"Dawn of Day: Stories from the Underground Railroad"

Dawn of Day is a historical documentary about the Underground Railroad in Kansas that brings to light Wabaunsee County’s unsung heroes who traversed one of the most turbulent times in our nation’s history. Faith, family, and politics united a community of neighbors who lived and died to ensure Kansas was a free state. Richard Pitts, director of the Wonder Workshop in Manhattan, Kansas, narrates the film and interviews educators, historians and descendants of abolitionists whose shared heritage lives on in the freedom we enjoy today.

America as "One Nation" should show

forth a most sincere and meaningful

"Celebration of Freedom"

achieved from the shameful

chains of lawless, cruel

SLAVERY.

America, "Oh beautiful, for spacious

skies, for amber waves of grain." But

concerning the stark realities of

the full spectrum of societal

disadvantages and injustices

 yet resulting upon

present-day descendants of

Slaves - who now also suffer as

victims of hate-filled racism -

America yet does nothing:  America yet stagnantly refrains.

rectifications for the

horrific Crimes of Slavery now

overdue to the descendants of

Slaves should have long been

graciously accomplished

with utmost humbleness

and righteous regret.
